Introductions are in Order

Hi, I'm Jess.
I used to write a blog years and years ago it feels like.
All my exciting adventures and adolescent heartbreaks written in a passive-aggressive or over-enthusiastic way to just keep me company.
I'm rather done with that sort of blogging.
It's time for honesty and authenticity.

So, hi. I'm Jess. I'm twenty-one, struggling with mental health issues, friendship breakups, and finding whatever it is I want to do.

Currently I have dropped out of school in order to learn a bit about myself. (It's been a process.) I am being tested for a learning disability which would drastically change my approach to the subject I wish to pursue in university. It's terrifying, but I need to know. It would be relieving to understand that it's not from "not trying hard enough" but rather a brain issue.

I have three cats, a dog, and a husband as of when this is being written.
Ziggy is our newest edition.

The other cats are Mimi, and Turtle. Turtle is my baby boy pride and joy.
(he's got extra toes)
Tilly is the dog. She is beautiful--like cookies and cream.

My husband and I are coming up on our first anniversary. It's been wild getting here. I'm glad we are where we are now though.
He struggles with bipolar. We finally (after a long manic episode of stupidity and lots of newly gained emotional trauma) got him to a psychiatrist and on medication that is outstanding.
He's been a real trooper through everything, and so have I. I'm glad we're figuring it all out.

I have friends my age who are married with their first kid and I can only imagine just how stressful that must be; but then I also think that perhaps having such a life-altering disorder as bipolar is rather like having a child. It's stressful and a lot to learn about and figure out. Kudos to those young moms, and kudos to us for trying to figure our problems out to become better adults.

It's possible that I'll just pop over here to write occasionally. I don't really know what about, but I have a lot on my mind all the time and sometimes I need a place to let it out--this will probably be that place.

Well, I guess I'll write more later!
